Security

All wireless ports should be considered an open port to unauthorized intruders despite the general privacy provisions that have been implemented by Atria Networks. It is highly recommended that all wireless users enhance their security through the use of a personal firewall.

Privacy

The Atria Networks wireless zone has two features implemented to increase user privacy:

  1. Users cannot determine the presence of other users on the system. While some may see this as an interesting capability, others may see it as an invasion of privacy.
  2. Users will not receive any unsolicited dialog. All information from the network is a response to user request. This may create some inconvenience but it will prevent unauthorized scanning of users.

Despite these features, total privacy cannot be assured. It is recommended that the users implement additional privacy measures such as encryption and VPN that are appropriate for their personal needs.

Users are also encouraged to implement additional security features.

For the purposes of determining trial success, Atria Networks will track session duration and overall traffic statistics.
